My guest for this episode is Larry Korn, a natural farming and permaculture instructor from California, who studied with Masanobu Fukuoka. The late Mr. Fukuoka remains one of the thought leaders whose work became integral to the body of knowledge and underlying philosophy we call permaculture. Larry is directly responsible for helping bring Mr. Fukuoka’s book The One-Straw Revolution to a wider audience by translating it into English, and publishing it in the through Rodale Press in the United States.During our conversation, in addition to Mr. Fukuoka and those early days in which Larry was involved with the farm and The One-Straw Revolution, we also talk about the philosophy of natural farming, the differences between permaculture and natural farming, Larry’s personal path, society, and applying the ideas of natural farming, and principles of permaculture, to personal growth. As much a discussion of the history of this ideas, this episode also pushes the edges of what we can do to improve ourselves, and in turn build a better world.
